The research conducted as a part of the LabEx G-eau-thermie Profonde is focussed on a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS).
The aim is to expand our understanding of geothermal reservoir exploration, natural geothermal fluid circulation, reservoir stimulation, deep geothermal reservoir development and exploitation, the mitigation of environmental and seismic risks associated with geothermal energy extraction, and public perception.
LabEx G-eau-thermie Profonde is divided into 9 scientific working groups that work individually and in collaboration with each other to tackle key problems in geothermal energy research.
Each year, the LabEx G-eau-thermie Profonde funds a series of internal projects.
The LabEx G-eau-thermie Profonde is also an active member of several ongoing national and international projects.
