Deep Geothermal Energy Module for Engineers

The deep geothermal energy module has been a part of the engineering curriculum at EOST since 2016.

It is offered to 3rd year engineering students (Master 2) and is taught by university lecturers, researchers, and industry professionals.

It consists of 25 hours of lessons, focussing on 6 main topics:
The thermal properties of the Earth
Use of geothermal energy, defined by French regulatory framework
Geothermal reservoirs: Exploration methods
Micro-seismicity in deep geothermal reservoirs
Measurement and applications of stress
Visits to the geothermal power plants at Soultz-sous-Forêts and Rittershoffen
