The European Geothermal Workshop (EGW) is an annual academic workshop that brings together students, scientists, and industry experts from around the world to present and discuss recent advances in geothermal energy.
On the 9th and 10th of October, this 7th edition gathered in Karlsruhe 152 participants, including 55 students, from 21 countries around the world (France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, Spain , Switzerland, Iceland, Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Canada, China, United States, Djibouti, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines). 55 students were present.
Ten researchers and doctoral students from EOST and LabEx presented their work (5 posters and 4 oral presentations):
Posters
Jérôme Azzola – Analysis of the applicability of ambient noise based techniques on the monitoring of deep geothermal reservoirs by numerical modelling
Marc Schaming – CDGP, a repository for geothermal data in Alsace
Dariush Javani, Jean Schmittbuhl – Evolution of hydro-mechanical properties during shearing in an EGS reservoir using a DFN model
Michael Heap – Petrophysical properties of the Muschelkalk from the Soultz-sous-Forêts geothermal site (France), an important lithostratigraphic unit for geothermal exploitation in the Upper Rhine Graben
Carole Glaas – SWIR spectroscopy for the exploration of hydrothermal alteration in crystalline geothermal reservoirs (Alsace, France).
Oral presentations
